Jóbarátom a szél,
Mindörökké nekem mesél,
Bejárja százszor, ezerszer a Földet,
Színeket hoz bársony- vöröset, zöldet,
Fehéret, sárgát, kéket, lilát,
a Hold ezüstjét, Nap tűzsugarát,
Pirosra festi bús arcomat,
Megszínesíti éji álmomat.

A great friend of mine the wind
For ever and ever it is telling me
It roves over the Earth bringing
Colours velvet- red and green,
lilac, blue, yellow and white,
Silver of the Moon, fire- sunshine.
It paints on my sad face by pink beam
And it colours my midnight dream.
